Back in March, Randall House held it’s annual vision retreat…but with a different twist. Six pastors were invited to answer questions, give feedback, share about their needs, and give suggestions about Randall House products and resources. The results? Amazing…remarkable in fact. We learned a lot about the current needs of pastors. So much, that we decided to take this show on the road.
Today, our CEO Ron Hunter, and I landed in Raleigh, NC and headed East. We met with two more pastors and their staff today. As we sat and listened to their answers, needs, and even some questions, it was once again remarkable to hear their responses. As we heard yet again today, some of the reoccurring hot topic/concerns are:
- Discipleship
- Children’s Products & Ministries
- Family Leadership
- Assimilation
We see these themes come up every where we go and even as we listen to pastors on the phone. The really refreshing thing about the pastors we talked to today is that every time we asked them a question, they had already been wrestling with the issue. Issues like, how to successfully disciple, how to help new members or visitors assimilate into a Bible Study or a Sunday School class to facilitate connectedness, how to help fathers become D6 Dads and lead their families, etc. These guys did not have all the answers, but they are earnestly trying to find the best way to meet each of these needs.
Lastly, we have been very encouraged by the response to D6. The second group we met with today has already been implementing the principles of D6 and using the CLEAR magazines to connect families with God in the home and is having great success. As you can imagine, this was quite encouraging to hear. It’s really neat to connect with pastors who already have a heart to be D6 Pastors/Churches (even before “D6″became an official campaign) and to see how it is helping them make a difference among their families.
Over the next two days we will be meeting with 6 other churches in NC and VA. We are looking forward to learning what God is doing among their people, and how we can help strengthen and encourage them in all they are accomplishing for Christ.

i’m glad it’s going well. praying for you guys.
